Pokemon Facts:
There are 17 different Pokemon types.
Bug-type Pokémon have abilities and appearances associated with arthropods.
Dark-type Pokémon have appearances associated with darkness and night.
Dragon-type Pokémon resemble dragons. Compared to other types they are rarer and stronger.
Electric-type Pokémon have abilities and appearances associated with electricity.
Fighting-type Pokémon have abilities and appearances associated with unarmed martial arts.
Fire-type Pokémon have abilities and appearances associated with fire and heat.
Flying-type Pokémon often resemble birds, bugs, or dragons. Their moves are associated with wind.
Ghost-type Pokémon resemble undead spirits. Their abilities are associated with shadows and the supernatural.
Ground-type Pokémon resemble creatures living on or under the ground. Their moves are associated with earth and soil.
Grass-type Pokémon have abilities and appearances associated with plant life.
Ice-type Pokémon live in cold areas and have abilities associated with ice and snow.
Poison-type Pokémon resemble venomous creatures or toxic chemicals, and have moves based on poison or acid.
Psychic-type Pokémon have abilities and appearances associated with psychic powers.
Rock-type Pokémon have abilities and appearances associated with rocks.
Steel-type Pokémon have abilities and appearances associated with metal. Steel Type Pokémon have the most resistances of all the types.
Water-type Pokémon resemble water-dwelling creatures and have abilities associated with water. Out of all the types, Water has the most species attributed to it.
The Normal-type includes Pokémon that do not belong to any of the other groups, most commonly mammals and fairy-like creatures. Highly unusual Pokémon such as Porygon are also of the Normal-type.
